A Gathering Place For Warriors

03/14/2014

Just following up on a story we blogged about a little over a year ago…

We did a wide range of work (brand identity, website, content management, video, animation and several branding applications) for a non-profit headquartered in Florida – the Warrior Institute – that helps wounded veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic brain injury (TBI) acclimate to civilian life through several recreation-based programs and initiatives.

Recently, the Warrior Institute decided to “expand” their services with the opening of a coffee shop – the Outpost. Located in the lobby area of their facility, the Outpost will serve a number of purposes: increasing awareness within the community, help generate funding for ongoing programs, and employing veterans (as well as giving them a place to gather).

We took on the task of creating a logo for the Outpost that would be an obvious extension of the Warrior Institute identity, and even got a sneak peek of the new exterior sign being built by one of the veterans affiliated with the program.

An Indiegogo page was utilized to generate funds for the project. Although they’ve reached their immediate goal of raising $15,000, the page explains the overall concept in detail.

To learn more about Warrior Institute’s new venture watch this short clip from local TV station WCJB in Gainesville. It was fun for us to see some of the materials we created featured as well.
